Alias – A 1 minute warning made up of heavy sounds and rhythms
NMR – Some cool grooves going on here, its brash, loud, high energy rhythms and sounds, with no let up, Alias has a short message for us and gets it across in this release.
Emmanuel Alias has worn many hats on his journey as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, dilettante, and polymath. His musical career began with contributions to renowned TV series like Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects, Mon fils, and Mariloup Wolfe’s Jouliks. His talents caught the attention of Musique Nomade, where he collaborated on notable projects, including the production of DREAMWEAVER, an album by Oji-Cree/Mi’kmaq multidisciplinary artist Anachnid, which was nominated at ADISQ and long-listed for the Polaris Prize. Alias also produced the track “Out of Touch” on Beyries’ album Encounter.
In 2019, he introduced his solo project, ALIAS, a psych-rock endeavor characterized by smooth, soaring sounds and retro-infused, cathartic storytelling. His music is rich with ambivalence, fuzz, and tempo shifts, weaving fantastical narratives with a nod to the classic psych-rock canon.
Several singles are already available, and the highly anticipated EP is set to be released on August 13th via Simone Records. Keep an ear out for what promises to be a genre-defying musical experience.
