This Punk Outfit gives us raw vibes with the very essence of the Punk sound!

I checked out Maggot House and was greeted with what I would call the DNA of a Punk track, raw guitar, simple but powerful chord structure, angry vocal sound, energetic vibes…all the nuts and bolts of original Punk – check it out !

Who are the band members?

Maggot House is low brow, low budget, punk. A DIY solo project of Brooklyn-based musician, Broose Young. How and where did it all come together? Born of a whiskey-fueled love for Misfits & The Spits. When Covid hit and I had idol hands, I decided to celebrate my 50th year, writing and recording my own slimy songs about monster movies, creepy ghouls and ridiculous punk experiences.

What are the band’s main influences?

I grew up a huge fan of Misfits, B-films, monster movies and old school punk bands.

Any notable events? Likewise radio or TV appearances?

Frequently on KEXP’s Sonic Reducer with Brian Foss. A featured interview about horror movies on IDIOTEQ magazine, and the SLEEZEGRINDER annual round-up for Classic Rock Magazine. Recently had a fun interview & conversation about the best Halloween punk songs with Pop Punk Pizza Podcast. Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music? I’ve been to so many shows with The Spits, I’ve somehow been mistakenly noted as a band member.

Do you have any favourable quotes from previous reviews of the band that you’d be happy to share?

Sept 2023 interview by independent mag IDIOTEQ: “Orchestrated by the whiskey-loving, horror film-addicted Broose Young, this D.I.Y. synth/ punk outfit offers a visceral journey through the underbelly of both cinema and sound” June 2023 review by Classic Rock Magazine’s SLEAZEGRINDER: “Maggot House is some housebound freak from Brooklyn puking up minute- long Misfits and Mummies homages on a beat-up synth, and if you ask me it’s the most majestic listen of 2023 so far.” Where was the new release recorded and who was involved in its production? Recorded in my tiny NYC apartment, one track at a time.

What is the idea behind the newest release?

The new Maggot House release ‘Too Old to Tour’ is a death-ray to the face! Featuring eight mind- melting tracks about your slimy future. If you only take one album into your fallout shelter this Summer, ‘Too Old to Tour’ is it.

Dont miss this one folks, make a note for future releases, see more Here
