“ Laid back acoustic folk from Mickey Haines here, relaxing and chilled vibe “

NMR – A nice mix of sounds and instruments on this one, and some very cool harmonies too, the vocal melody is chilled and easy to listen to, sounds like an uptight Bass, some nice tones, overall a nice track.
Mickey Haimes Reflects on a Failed Romance with New Single ‘Solipsism Sunday’
Channel Islands-based singer-songwriter Mickey Haimes is set to release his latest single, ‘Solipsism Sunday’, on January 17, 2025. This folk-rock ballad blends piercing lyrics with a playful chorus, offering a bittersweet take on the complexities of love and memory.
‘Solipsism Sunday’ tells the story of an unforgotten affair, exploring the grey area between toxic and beautiful relationships. Haimes crafts an alternative love song that makes you reflect while tapping your feet, posing the age-old question: “Boy meets girl, and then what?”
The track features dreamy female harmonies that intertwine with Mickey’s soulful voice, backed by an understated upright bass. Known for his tongue-in-cheek storytelling, Haimes delivers a melodic narrative that swings effortlessly between reflection and wit.
Following his debut single, indie anthem ‘Sunlight’s Exposure’, which gained support from BBC Music Introducing in the Channel Islands, ‘Solipsism Sunday’ marks a deeper foray into folk rock for the rising artist.
In Mickey’s own words:
“‘Solipsism Sunday’ is an appreciation that while there’s two sides to every story, the human mind has a funny way of perceiving this. It’s limited, put it that way.”
The single will be available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. Fans can also watch the official music video on YouTube and other video networks.
Stay tuned for this poignant and playful exploration of love and memory from one of folk rock’s promising new voices.
