Quote – “I said to Steve you know I want this to be a bit jaunty and have energy and stuff and he he puts on the opening kind of synth riff that starts it out and then the kind of a spawning guitar riff that comes with it”

Hi guys, welcome to this new series of Q&A’s with new artists. In this episode we’re going to be talking to Damon Brock.

Extract Below –

NMR – Tell us who you are, what you’re all about, what sort of music you do.

DB – Hi, my name’s Damon Brock, I am a Worthing based singer-songwriter. I’ve just released my second EP which is called The Summer of Our Content. So that’s just come out October the 11th and I’m taking it out there, having to play locally which I think I’ll get on to explain later but yeah playing it locally and enjoying it being out in the world.

NMR – Okay how long you been doing it Damon?

DB – I’ve been writing my own stuff for about 20 years. I only picked up the guitar in my kind of mid-20s. I’m now in my late 40s, just played for my own fun and enjoyment, started writing stuff for the same goal and then put some stuff out kind of on my space but not particularly professionally.

I feel the first EP I just got used to being in a studio having a producer putting them out there and with this one I’ve done it a bit more kind of systematically a little bit more professionally. So I’ve released drip released three of the tracks over the summer done all the applying for playlisting and all that stuff been playing live where I can putting out more things on social media to try to you know get a bit more awareness out there.

NMR – So you’re a solo artist you don’t know band or collaboration or anything?

DB – Yeah so solo at the moment I am jamming with some people with a view to getting a band together to play these songs live and also I’ve held some songs some other songs that I’ve written back which I feel would be more suited to having a full band play them.
